Dear Light Group,

One of the Bible verses that Jim Goure quoted most frequently was from the Book of Revelation: “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still; and he that is filthy, be filthy still; and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still; and he that is holy, let him be holy still.”  The essential message of this verse: Just let people be.

Building on this message, Jim gave us further insights: “Don’t in any way try to change anyone’s personality.  If you do try to change them, you won’t get anything but problems.  If you see personalities that are being unjust, and you see that, then you are off base.”

Jim’s advice was, “When you come in contact with a person, who is at whatever level, see the Christ Light within them.  Allow this Christ Light within them to heal, to change, to make new.  When you see the Christ Light in everyone – rather than seeing filthiness, unjustness, or holiness – then you are doing the works that Jesus did or greater.”

“If you want to change other people,” said Jim, “do not work on their filthiness or their unjustness or their holiness.  You work on recognizing the Christ within them.  Let that Christ Light that is within them do the works in them.”

In this spirit, you might want to try a prayer such as, “The Christ Light within me directs my life to Light.  I see the Christ Light working through me.  I know that all the Good working through me is not mine but that of the Christ Light.  I know this Christ Light is in everyone.  I see this Christ Light in all those who have hurt me.  I see this Christ Light in all those who have helped me.  I see this Christ Light in everyone and everything.  Thank you, God, for this Christ Light.  Thank you, God, for this Christ Light living in the hearts and minds and souls of all beings.  Thank you, God, for the expansion of this Christ Light, all for Thy greater glory.  Amen.”

Love and Light,

Tully
