Dear Light Group,

The birth of Jesus must have been quite a happening.  It was such a powerful event that men and angels and even the stars were magnetized by it. Both simple people (shepherds) and the knowledgeable ones (the wise men) were awakened to the significance of this birth. Angels sang God’s praises (to the shepherds), and there were signs in the heavens (the star in the east guiding the wise men).  Mary, the mother of Jesus, became filled with Divine inspiration, to the point where she spoke what, in an earlier era, would have been one of the greatest Psalms (and portions of which are among the most repeated lines in the Bible):
My soul doth magnify the Lord,
And my spirit hath rejoiced in God, my savior,
For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden.
For behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
For he that is might hath done to me great things,
And holy is his name.
And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.
He hath shewed strength with his arm:
He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He hath put down the mighty from their seats
And exalted them of low degree.
He hath filled the hungry with good things,
And the rich he hath sent empty away.
He hath helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy,
As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed, forever.
Let us, in our prayers this Saturday, hearken back to that time when Jesus was born and feel the magnitude and magnificence his energy–so powerful that it magnetized both the human kingdom and the nature kingdom.  You might do that through a prayer such as, “Praise be to Thee, Lord, for the glory of the Christ. Praise be to Thee, Lord, for the energy of the Christ, that energy that lifts up everyone, that enables us to grow, that makes us stand tall and reach for the Light. Praise be to Thee, Lord, for the music of the Christ, singing in our hearts, bringing us Joy and Peace and Love. Praise be to Thee, Lord, for Thy magnificence, for Thy glory, for Thy beauty, for the magnificence of Thee!  Amen.”
Merry Christmas!
Love and Light,
